＜IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION＞
To students planning to apply for the SPRING support program:
To support excellent PhD course students, the SPRING program offers two parts of financial support: one is for living expenses and the other for research budget. As of June 26, 2025, the Japan Science and Technology Agency（JST）, the government funder of the SPRING support program, is considering changes of  the eligibility for the support. Please apply with full understanding of the updated eligibility conditions as described below:

*There is NO change in the application procedure or selection process. Please prepare the required forms and documents closely following the guidelines currently published on our website and submit them to the University of Toyama’s Administrative Office of SPRING Program by the deadline.
*University of Toyama’s committee may modify the application procedure and/or selection process following JST’s instructions. In this case, the new guidelines and application forms will be available on the Web site. Please check the website from time to time.
Remark: The Japanese and foreign PhD course students who have received SPRING program support can continue to receive both the living expenses and research budgets.

富山大学SPRING事業に応募しようとしている皆さんへ：
SPRING事業では優秀な博士後期課程学生を支援するため、研究奨励費(生活費相当)および研究費の支援を行っています。令和7年6月26日付け国立研究開発法人科学技術振興機構（JST）からの通知により、これら支援の有無が学生区分ごとに下表の通り変更される方針であるとの連絡がありました。このことをご承知の上、応募していただくよう、よろしくお願いいたします。

※今後JST（国）からの新たな通知により、応募手続きおよび審査方法が変更となる可能性があります。この場合は、Webサイトによりお知らせしますので、随時確認するようにしてください。
※現在、SPRING事業の支援を受けている日本人および外国人留学生については、これまで通り生活費および研究費を支援する方針です。
