Michael Haryantoさんが学会の渡航助成を受けて学会発表し最優秀賞を受賞しました

 

SPRING支援学生であるMichael Haryantoさんは、一般社団法人日本海洋学会の若手海外渡航援助を受け、11月17日から21日に南アフリカ共和国で開催された国際研究プロジェクト「GEOTRACES」によるサマースクールに参加しました。彼は16か国から選ばれた35名のコホートの一人として選出され、日本のGEOTRACES若手研究者を代表する役割に任命されました。サマースクールでは、国際的な専門家による講義、実習、フィールドワークなどのトレーニングを行いました。

サマースクール期間中に行ったポスター発表では、“REEs and OMPA Analyses to Identify and Quantify Overlooked Tidal-induced Water and Nutrient Dynamics in a Continental Shelf”と題して発表し、最優秀ポスター賞を受賞しました。

Mr. Michael Julian Haryanto received a travel grant from the Oceanographic Society of Japan and won the best poster presentation

Mr. Michael Haryanto, a student supported by the SPRING project, attended the 4th GEOTRACES Summer School held in Cape Town, South Africa, from November 17 to 21 – with support from the Young Overseas Travel Assistance Program from the Oceanographic Society of Japan.

He was selected as one of 35 cohorts coming from 16 different countries and was appointed to represent GEOTRACES early career scientist from Japan.
During the event, he presented his poster entitled “REEs and OMPA Analyses to Identify and Quantify Overlooked Tidal-induced Water and Nutrient Dynamics in a Continental Shelf” which was proudly awarded in recognition of the best poster. He pointed out that trace element research is diverse, with varying approaches, and its findings contribute to achieving a healthy, productive, and sustainable ocean within the international community of GEOTRACES.
Ultimately, He would like to sincerely express his gratitude to the Oceanographic Society of Japan and the SPRING Project for their support, which made his participation in this academic activity possible.
