Michael Haryantoさんが学会の渡航助成を受けて学会参加と海外機関の訪問を行いました。

SPRING支援学生であるMichael Haryantoさんは、公益財団法人日本海洋科学振興財団の海外渡航費援助及び本学SPRING事業による支援を受け、9月8日から10月12日に、ドイツで開催された学会「ICYMARE」への参加及びヘルムホルツ海洋研究センター（GEOMAR）の訪問を行いました。

「ICYMARE」では、海洋科学分野における多岐にわたるテーマ別セッションが開催され、Michael Haryantoさんは、「Marine Biogeochemistry of Trace Elements in Multiscale Ocean Mixing Processes from Land to Open Ocean」のセッションを主催し、活発な議論が行われました。

学会終了後は、世界有数の海洋研究センターであるヘルムホルツ海洋研究センター（GEOMAR）を訪問しました。約1か月間にわたり当該研究センターの研究に加わり指導を受けることで、今後の研究の視野を広げるきっかけとなりました。

Mr. Michael Haryanto, a student supported by SPRING project, attended the International Conference for YOUNG Marine Researchers (ICYMARE) held in Germany from September 8 to 12, and visited GEOMAR – the Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel – with support from both the overseas travel grant provided by the Japan Marine Science Foundation and SPRING project.

At ICYMARE, a wide range of thematic sessions in the field of marine science were held. He hosted a session titled “a topic of marine biogeochemistry of trace elements in Multiscale Ocean Mixing Processes from Land to Open Ocean,” which sparked active discussions among participants.

Following the conference, he visited GEOMAR -the Helmholtz Center for Ocean Research Kiel- a world-leading institute renowned for its excellence in marine science. By engaging in research activities and receiving guidance there for about a month, he was able to broaden his perspective on future research.
